Everyone has the right to feel safe in their own streets and homes. However, new, increasingly complex cross-border security threats have emerged in recent years, highlighting the need for closer European cooperation on security.
This initiative will set out the areas where the EU can help national governments improve security. It includes measures to:

• combat terrorism and organised crime
• prevent and detect hybrid threats
• strengthen critical infrastructure.
